Every day in the Fattoria’s workshop, Francesco – the baker and pastry chef – and his team prepare biscuits and cakes, which then go into the wood-burning oven, as well as other sweet delicacies... which have always accompanied special moments. They are eaten and offered at the end of a meal, on festive occasion, to friends and visitors. Cantucci, for example... are traditionally offered in Tuscany to welcome guests. A few years ago the first chocolate delicacies, tartufi (= truffles), “appeared” unexpectedly at the Fattoria, and it was love at first sight (or better, first taste)!! Since then chocolate has become a companion, either immediately or after a while, for almost everything sweet prepared by Francesco and his team. This has given rise to specialities such as the Candied Orange Peel in Chocolate, a generous layer that melts in your mouth as soon as you taste it, the Dark Chocolate Truffles with Ginger and the Soft Chocolate Nougat, as well as Almonds, Hazelnuts and “Brutti ma Buoni” biscuits... all of which enveloped in a fabulous coating of chocolate (naturally organic!). To make sure not to miss out on anything, another timeless sweet surprise (from Medieval Siena) accompanies the chocolate delicacies – the Mini Panforti. They may not be covered in chocolate, but they are nevertheless mouthwatering delights, full of spices and dried fruit... unique!
