Grape blend: 100% Uva Fragola
This sparkling, alcohol-free Spremuta comes from “Uva Fragola” grapes, an unusual, fairly rare variety that recalls the aroma and flavour of wild strawberries (in fact “fragola” means strawberry in Italian). A few years ago, the Viallini discovered a few vines in one of the rented vineyards in the Maremma area, where they were growing wild. Due to an antiquated law, in Italy making wine with uva fragola grapes is not permitted, but you can enjoy their special flavour in La Vialla’s alcohol-free Spremuta. After pressing, the first grape must, the “cream” of the juice (full of aroma), is separated and transferred into a pressurised tank at 0 °C to immediately prevent fermentation. Straight afterwards the coarse lees are removed and bubbles are added. It’s perfect with desserts and delicate cheeses, as well as being an ideal ingredient for cocktails and... anything you can imagine! Its exquisite taste can be enhanced simply with a slice of lemon or a few leaves of mint, but you can also add dry white wine, sparkling wine or – for a more daring drink – mix it with chilled gin or with .... whatever you prefer!
Tasting – Colour: it maintains the delightful, characteristic nuance of Uva Fragola grapes, a beautiful bright pinkish purple. The nose: it has a tempting aroma of wild strawberries, currants and fresh grapes. In the mouth: pleasantly sweet (not thanks to added sugar but to those found naturally in the grapes), but well balanced by excellent acidity. Fine, delicate bubbles drive the aromas perceived by the nose onto the palate.
